Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be inaugurating the construction project for the core reactor of the Rooppur Power Plant by first concrete pouring, tomorrow. This will initiatiate the main construction of this massive project in Pabna, informed Ministry of Science & Technology. Authorities aim to produce its first unit of 1,200 megawatt electricity in 2022. Completion of this project will enlist Bangladesh in the Nuclear Club as well. Bangladesh is taking 11.38 billion dollars loan from Russia & will be returning back 20 billion dollars with interest. Already, land preparation & surrounding construction projects on its 292 acre had been completed. Two 20 storied buildings & several other facilities had been established. Soon, a railway & water-route will be established with Mongla or Chittagong. Russian Federation will be providing the technical support & their latest VVIR Reactor. It has 5 step security measures. Russia agreed that, they will take back all the nuclear waste afterwards.
